AN IMPORTANT NOTE: Online fraud has become a serious problem for small sellers like us (particularly since the advent of COVID), so we've unfortunately had to tighten how we do business. We will not respond to one-line emails, texts or DMs ("I want model XXX"), and we won't discuss pricing, delivery or details until we've spoken with the buyer directly by phone. It's a small extra step, but it is a good process toward creating a solid, trusted relationship. Once we get your email, we'll follow up quickly with a number to reach us.
If you do choose to order, we will request a 25% down payment. This payment will reserve the machine while we prep it for shipment/delivery, and is fully refundable if you change your mind for any reason before we ship the machine. Unfortunately, due to fraudster charge-backs and delayed NSF checks, deposits are now payable only by cash, PayPal (Friends and Family ONLY), wire transfer, or check/money-order (with a 14 business-day hold period). Yes, it has become that problematic recently. The balance of payment is due when we ship or deliver, per the arrangements made with the buyer at the time of purchase. If you are a former customer, these requirements will be waived.
If you receive a machine that is not to your satisfaction, we will refund your money in full without issue. Our goal is 100% satisfaction, and for over 20 years, we have maintained a policy of assuring that your purchase is 'as expected' (or better than expected). I am well-known in the hobby, and am happy to provide references.
We don't keep a public showroom — our phonographs are stored safely in climate-controlled facilities in the Southeast USA. Serious buyers are always welcome to inspect a specific machine in person by appointment; just know we can't pull inventory for casual browsing since everything is carefully wrapped and stored.
Every phonograph is fully torn down, cleaned, lubricated, and tested before it ships, so please allow a few weeks after ordering — it's worth the wait! Acoustic phonographs ship with 200 new steel needles (100 loud, 100 soft tone) and a set of era-appropriate records. If we deliver to your home, we will handle the unpacking and set-up. Please consider shipping before ordering: for a large, heavy antique phonograph, shipping cost is a real part of the total price — it's important to review shipping options and pricing before placing an order, so there are no surprises.
International buyers: due to ongoing fraud and customs chargeback issues, we're currently only able to ship within the USA. If you're overseas, you're welcome to arrange delivery through a friend or contact in the US who can forward the machine to you.
